Arcadia was named a “Best Place to Live” by Money magazine and it’s not hard to figure out why! Consisting of large luxury properties, ranging from a rare less-than half acre to an extraordinary 5 acres, Arcadia’s housing market is definitely an anomaly in the valley of the sun. Mostly custom-built homes from the 20s - 50s have been maintained and updated over the years, and some of the homes have been completely rebuilt in recent years. You’d be hard pressed to find a new home built to the same high quality today. As a result, the estate homes in the Arcadia Neighborhood can quickly soar to over 3 million and, even in this economy; you’ll have to be quick and aggressive when trying to buy one of these larger homes.

The lush, green, mature landscapes including orange and date groves are hard to find within the Phoenix area. The biking paths along the Arizona Canal that borders Arcadia on the south offers another opportunity for expending young energy without worrying about traffic. Residents relish the proximity to Scottsdale's high-end shopping at Biltmore Fashion Park of the Scottsdale Fashion Square. A short drive will get you to world-class resorts, arts centers and good restaurants, as well as Old Town and downtown Phoenix.

Many families inhibit Arcadia, and recently younger people want to live in Arcadia because of the hip restaurants and clubs. The schools are some of the best in the state, just minutes away from both Brophy and Xavier Prep Schools. Homes vary in size but have lots of space, and the large yards have pools and sport courts for active kids.

If you love the Arcadia area but don’t have the budget to support an estate, just to the west is Arcadia Lite, which offers mid-range prices for charming homes with an entry level beginning at around $300,000. While you won’t have a lush, green Arcadia estate with acreage, you will still have the Arcadia feel as you meet your neighbors over coffee at the bustling La Grande Orange market or over a glass of wine at Postino’s Winebar.
